  • About the Project

EurasiaDoc provides script development residencies for film industry representatives of seven countries (Georgia, Russia, Turkey, Armenia, Ukraine, Belarus and Moldova) and meetings with European producers and televisions to promote co-productions between the countries.

Since 2016, partially financed by the Georgian National Film Centre, OpyoDoc and Docmonde have been coordinating trainings and industrial meetings for documentary filmmakers in Georgia. Eurasiadoc encourages specialists from different countries who work in the documentary industry (authors / directors, producers) to establish and develop professional relationships.

Eurasiadoc creates a complete chain of the film industry (from the film's idea to its release), which helps budding directors to realize their film's ideas.
Within the framework of EurasiaDoc, 4-6 Project ideas are selected from each country for a Script Development Residence (12-14 days) to help budding filmmakers in developing their scripts with European film professionals.
After the development of the film projects, EursiaDoc co-production meetings allow filmmakers to meet European producers and broadcasters to present their projects. In addition, EurasiaDoc assists European producers in funding, for instance by inviting European broadcasters. The participation of broadcasters helps producers to obtain finances in various regional funds and makes it possible to submit projects to European film funds
Based on EurasiaDoc's working principle, a continuous chain is created: from script development to film screening.
Within the framework of Eurasiadoc programs, at least 16 films are produced annually.
EurasiaDoc was implemented in 2011-2013 with the support of the EU. Each year, 4-6 Georgian and Armenian projects have participated at the script development residence and co-production meetings.
The project EurasiaDoc is important for beginning filmmakers because:
•        Within the framework of the project, young filmmakers develop the ideas of their films and create complete projects (with script, synopsis, director’s vision, etc.) with European standards, getting them ready for any European fund or festival.
•        The project EurasiaDoc guarantees the export of regional products to the European market, which will contribute to the popularization and development of the country.
