in den letzten Wochen mehren sich die Stimmen derer, die die Corona-Krise missbrauchen wollen, um beschlossene Gesetze zurückzudrehen, Klima-Ambitionen zu senken oder neue Vorhaben zu verlangsamen. Wegen der Corona-Epidemie sollen Regeln zur Luftverschmutzung aufgeweicht werden. Wegen der Corona-Krise solle das europaweite Verbot von Einwegplastikprodukten zurückgenommen werden. Oder: Wegen der Corona-Krise müsste der Klimaschutz verschoben werden. So absurd argumentieren Industrielobbygruppen zur Zeit in Deutschland und Brüssel. In dieser Ausgabe von Europe Calling wollen wir ein Licht auf diese Machenschaften werfen.
Denn um gestärkt aus der Corona-Wirtschaftskrise zu kommen und nachhaltige, krisenfeste Arbeitsplätze zu schaffen, benötigen wir Investitionen in saubere und zukunftsfähige Technologien. Doch manche Industrievertreter lassen keine Sekunde ungenutzt, um während der Corona-Krise am Fundament eines nachhaltigen Aufschwungs zu sägen. Wir wollen deshalb über den Angriff der Lobbyisten auf den Klima- und Umweltschutz

Dazu haben wir zwei absolute Expertinnen des Lobbyismus für unser Webinar gewinnen können. Christina Deckwirth ist Politikwissenschaftlerin im Berliner Büro von Lobbycontrol. Sie beschäftigt sich unter anderem mit dem Einfluss der Autolobby auf die Bundesregierung. Margarida Silva arbeitet für Corporate Europe Observatory, wo sie sich dafür einsetzt, den privilegierten Zugang und Einfluss von Unternehmen und ihren Lobbygruppen bei der Politikgestaltung in der EU aufzudecken und in Frage zu stellen.
Diese Webinar ist Teil der Reihe "GrüneEuropaWebinare".

Zur Teilnahme an Europe Calling müsst Ihr/müssen Sie nirgendwo hinkommen, Ihr könnt/Sie vom heimischen Sofa aus die Diskussion verfolgen und selbst mitreden.
Europäische Diskussionen erreichen viele Menschen kaum, obwohl sie uns alle betreffen. Über Online-Veranstaltungen können wir miteinander über deutsche und europäische Politik sprechen, ohne an einen Ort reisen zu müssen. Sie sehen die Diskussionsteilnehmer in einem Video-Fenster und können ihnen zuhören. Sie können selbst mitdiskutieren per Chat oder Mikrofon. Das alles geht einfach vom Computer, Mobiltelefon oder Festnetz. So kommt europäische Politik ohne Reiserei direkt zu Ihnen - fast wie bei einer Podiumsdiskussion vor Ort! Über diese Webinare zu aktuellen Themen können mehrere hundert Gäste dabei sein.

In the last few weeks, the voices of those who want to exploit the Corona Crisis in order to roll back adopted laws, lower climate ambitions or slow down new initiatives have been increasing. Because of the Corona Crisis, rules on air pollution are to be softened. Because of the Corona Crisis, the Europe-wide ban on disposable plastic products is to be withdrawn. Or: Because of the Corona Crisis, climate protection will have to be postponed. These are the absurd arguments currently used by industry lobby groups across Europe. In this edition of my webinar series "Europe Calling", we want to shed some light on these lobbying strategies.
In order to emerge stronger from the economic crisis caused by the coronavirus and create sustainable, crisis-proof jobs, we need investment in clean and future-proof technologies. But some industry representatives are not wasting any time to start undermining the foundation of a sustainable recovery. We therefore want to talk about the lobbyists' attacks on climate and environmental protection

I am excited to welcome two absolute experts in lobbying to our webinar. Christina Deckwirth is a political scientist in the Berlin office of the German pro-transparency NGO LobbyControl. Among other things, she deals with the influence of the car lobby on the German federal government. Margarida Silva works for Corporate Europe Observatory, where she is committed to uncovering and questioning the privileged access and influence of companies and their lobby groups in EU policy-making.

To participate, you don't have to go anywhere, you can follow the discussion from your sofa at home and have your say.
European discussions hardly reach many people, although they affect all of us. Via online events we can talk to each other about German and European politics without having to travel to one place. You see the discussion participants in a video window and can listen to them. You can join the discussion yourself via chat or microphone. All of this is easily done from a computer, mobile phone or landline. In this way, European politics comes directly to you without having to travel - almost like a panel discussion on site! These webinars on current topics can be attended by several hundred guests.
