In 2018, Berlin launched the #MobilityAct, an unprecedented law in Germany to boost climate-friendly mobility. Still, looking at Berlin’s streets, one could think that the road belongs mainly to motorized vehicles. How is this possible and what concrete measures are taken to provide cyclists and pedestrians access to a convenient and safe urban space? How could an alternative use of the city's road look like, and how could we get there? This Climate Talk will address these questions – and yours! – to critically reflect on the changing mobility patterns in Berlin and how the city needs to take action to adapt to them.

The events of our Young Climate CAMPUS Berlin are all about connecting, exchanging, learning and developing ideas in a series of digital events focusing on the fields of action of the BEK 2030.
In our previous CAMPUS events, we have focused on urban development, our private consumption, and solar energy in Berlin (if you’re curious, take a look into the live stream recordings on our website) – three of the six fields of action of the Berlin Energy and Climate Protection Programme 2030 (BEK 2030). We will continue discovering further fields of action in our next events, putting our heads together with experts and everyone who’s interested in exploring current necessities and future possibilities on how to transform Berlin into a carbon-neutral city by 2050.
