Dorit Machell ist Kulturwissenschaftlerin (MA.) und hat Medienkultur und Internationale Beziehungen, sowie Medienmanagement in Weimar und Malmö (Schweden) studiert. Darüber hinaus hat Dorit unterschiedliche Weiterbildungen u.a. in der Menschenrechtsbildung, in der europäischen nicht-formalen Bildung, Nachhaltigkeitsbildung, Dialogue Facilitation, Online-Moderation, Gewaltfreie Kommunikation, Design Thinking, Coaching, im Systemischen Ansatz, im Bereich inklusiv und barrierefrei veranstalten sowie die Weiterbildung der Noah Sow Academy »Erfolgreich rassismuskritisch veranstalten« abgeschlossen. Dorit ist Fellow des FutureLab Europe Programms (Robert Bosch Stiftung/Körber-Stiftung).

Seit 2011 arbeitet Dorit Machell als Bildungsreferentin, Lernprozessbegleiterin und Projektkoordinatorin in der europäischen nicht-formalen Erwachsenenbildung. Seit 2017 liegt ihr Fokus in der Menschenrechtsbildung und der Weiterbildung von Fachkräften. In ihrer Arbeit geht sie der Frage nach, wie wir Bildung demokratisch, machtkritisch und diversitätsensibel gestalten können. Dorit ist Teil des internationalen EuroPeer-Netzwerks von JUGEND für Europa.

Seit Anfang 2020 koordiniert Dorit hauptberuflich als Projektmanagerin das Projekt »Migrant_innen als Fachkräfte der Jugendarbeit« an der EJBW Weimar und plant, gestaltet und moderiert dort das Qualifizierungsprogramm in der politischen Bildung.

Dorit hat in Deutschland, Island, Schweden und Kanada gelebt und genießt seit einem Jahrzehnt nun mit ihrer bilingualen und binationalen Familie das Leben in Weimar. Von Weimar aus arbeitet Dorit europaweit.

Dorits Leitfragen sind: Wie wollen wir zusammenarbeiten und lernen? Wie können wir die Werte der Menschenrechte ohne Abstriche auf die Bildung übertragen? Wie gestalten wir Bildung diskriminierungskritisch und inklusiv?

Aktuell beschäftigt sich Dorit insbesondere mit dem Konzept von Social Justice, mit Adultismus, Ableismus und der Organisationsform Soziokratie.

Dorit Machell is a cultural scientist (MA.) and studied media culture and international relations, as well as media management in Weimar and Malmö (Sweden). She has completed various training courses in human rights education, European non-formal education, sustainability education, dialogue facilitation, online facilitation, non-violent communication, design thinking, coaching, as well as the Noah Sow Academy training "Successfully organising critical of racism". Dorit is a fellow of the FutureLab Europe Programme (Robert Bosch Foundation/ Körber Foundation).

Since 2011 Dorit Machell has been working as an educational consultant, learning process facilitator and project coordinator in European non-formal adult education. Since 2017, her focus has been on human rights education and the further training of professionals. In her work, she explores the question of how we can make education democratic, critical of power, and sensitive to diversity and discrimination. Dorit is part of the international EuroPeer network of JUGEND für Europa.

Since the beginning of 2020, Dorit has been coordinating the project "Migrants as Youth Workers" at the EJBW Weimar as a full-time project manager and plans, designs and moderates the qualification programme in political education there.

Dorit has lived in Germany, Iceland, Sweden and Canada and has now been enjoying life in Weimar with her bilingual and bi-national family for a decade. From Weimar, Dorit works across Europe.

Dorit's guiding questions are: How do we want to work and learn together? How can we transfer the values of human rights to education without compromise? How do we shape education in a way that is critical of discrimination?

Dorit is currently working on the concept of social justice, adultism and the organisational form of sociocracy.
